Mischief and Storytelling

I couldn't resist posting this picture. It was one day last week when I came around the corner to see what my two sweet quiet girls were up to....low and behold! This picture speaks for itself. Yes, that's diaper cream. If you look very closely, you can see the ring around Sy's nose where she took the cap off to apparently stick it on her nose.
We had a good weekend. Quiet and relaxing. The girls are enjoying thier new slide we picked up at a yard sale. It's huge, two slides and a tunnel along with a little playhouse like structure attached to it. We got a big blow up pool with it too. One day soon I'm going to set the whole slide thing inside the pool and make a homemade waterpark out of it! I'll have to post the video once I get the ambition.

The video is self explanatory. The girls just got out of the bath and were buggin Papi to read to them. Just an example of how much they're talking and showing off some cognative skills as well. (Eve's the one with the hat on) Hope you all had a good weekend and here's hoping the beginning of our week goes well.

Gearing up for Turkey Day & Future Drivers

I am SO thankful once again that Sylvin's home. Last year SUCKED without him or being home with family and friends. I didn't even celebrate. Me and the girls were invited over to the neighbors and only stayed maybe a half hour. Long enough to load up my plate say hello and not appear too rude cause I was leaving so fast. I just wasn't in the mood. This year already has a different vibe.


I posted a video of the girls outside one afternoon this week. They love the little car I got at the Airmens attic up at AFB (Andersen). They have a "all hands" day every other Friday which means, I can get in. It's a thrift store and everything in there is FREE! One of the best kept secrets on the island. Anyway the very first time I went up there I saw this car and snagged it. Little did I know the front wheels were about ready to fall off it. So Sylvin, the genius that he is, came up with the big caster wheel in the middle solution. The girls couldn't be happier. They used to get so frustrated cause the poor car wouldn't go forward no matter how much they'd push and shoved. Now ......well, it'll go forward and do a complete 360! They fight over who drives most of the time. Today was Eve's lucky day. They're the same way at the grocery store. OH! Which reminds me. Sy one day kept saying "Go See Saw" over and over and then would say it again on occasion days following. I couldn't figure it out until I came back from the commisary one day and she said it again. I little light went off! OH!!!!!!! "Go See Saw" is actually "Grocery Store"! You gotta love the Elmer Fudd accent.

Sergeant First Class Lawrence Joel (February 22, 1928–February 4, 1984) was a United States military veteran. He served in the United States Army in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. While serving in Viet Nam, as a medic with the rank of specialist five assigned to 1st Battalion of the 503rd Infantry in the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Joel received the Silver Star and the Medal of Honor for his heroism in a battle with the Viet Cong that occurred on November 8, 1965. He was the first living black American to receive this medal since the Spanish-American War in 1898.

He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Virginia.[1] His grave can be found in section 46, lot 15-1.

Veteran's Day has always been a special holiday for me. Even before I married Sylvin. I respect the men and women that have given service and that have sacrificed their lives believing in this country's freedom and what the United States stands for. But most of all these men and women believed in a higher power, God Bless America. God, you can feel the love for him in your heart when you remember these brave Veterans.
I spoke with a Veteran yesterday that I have the privilege of calling a friend. I don't know what he endured exactly when he was fighting in Vietnam. I can't even begin to imagine. Frankly, I'm sure I don't want to know, but what I do know is I'm grateful to him, that one person who stood up for what he believed and what he felt was right in his soul. God was with him and brought him home safely. I pray for all the men and women in our Armed Forces that they know God's love, believe with all their hearts that they're part of something bigger and know that freedom doesn't come easy but worth fighting for. I'm ever so grateful.

Long awaited diving photos!

Sorry to bombard you al with 5 or 6 posts ths week. We've been pretty busy since Sylvin has gotten home. So here's video of the girls at the beach the other day, and of my handsome sugarlips. He's so lucious! Okay okay, I'll simmer down. This is a family site.


Mehan called me yesterday to ask if I wanted to go diving with her and Jason (her husband). I of course jumped at the opportunity and got ready quickly. Mehan brought along her underwater camera, hence the photos. It was a beautiful day to go. We saw a huge sea cumcuber, I'm holding it in one of the photos and we also found some sort of Pacific shrimp. It was cute and tiny.

A day at the Beach w/Papi

Well, we nixed the circus idea. We were all feeling too lazy to get it together in time to go. So we just didn't. They have shows tomorow too, but Sylvin's got duty, so no biggie. We spent the afternoon at the beach instead. Personally I'm much happier there and the girls were too. The water felt like bath water it was so warm. Sylvin and I laid on our stomachs in the sand right at the water's edge and let the waves wash over us as we watched the girls played in the sand on shore. All on the first of November! What a beautiful day. Hope you started your weekend nicely too and we're all still "up" from our sugar buzz! (That's why I'm posting so much!) Smooches from us all xo xo xo xo

Sy and Eve Trick O Treating

Well, we had a 50/50 chance of having a good night Trick O Treating and I was right....partly. I thought Eve would be the one to freak out about all the wierd faces and costumes. Well, I stand corrected and she made a liar outta me. Did you expect any less? You knew where I was going with the opening line huh?
Sy took one look at Kelsey as soon as she got out of the car and flipped. She pulled the her hat down over her eyes and didn't come out til we put her back in the car to go home. She ate her candy under there and all. Eve however was one cool cucumber and never blinked an eye at anyone. Even when we would go up to spooky doorways and through smoke machines! Not even a shudder. Sylvin had them playing outside in the yard in the sprinkler most of the afternoon and then us Trick o treating in the evening. Needless to say not one of them uttered a peep after prayers were said tonight. Tomorrow we're going to the circus! I know I know, it's not the most "PC" thing to do with all the 'animal cruelty' that runs amuck in the circus ring....but this circus is from Moscow. Maybe they've heard of PETA and fear for their lives?! I dunno, we got kids I'm not going to neglect them from a circus. Especially since we get a military discount! Hopefully Sy can hold it together and Eve won't take her turn tomorrow. Love to you all. Will try to post some pictures of it when I can. Have a great weekend.
