Esyanne & Evelisse growing up in pictures
Friday, May 30, 2008
Here's a slide show of the photos I had taken these, with Sylvin's help, of the girls this past week. They're so stinking cute if I say so myself. Pictures turned out beautifully considering it's pretty hard to keep them still. Jacquie said it best and it fits so perfectly...."Like trying to keep two corks underwater at the same time." We took the pictures at Asan Beach, one of the fiercest battles fought during WWII when the Americans landed in Guam. One of the photos has the girls sitting in front of the WWII memorial. All the services are represented, the girls are sitting in front of the Coast Guard one. So sweet.
As a side note, it's pretty apparent I'm typing.....didn't think that was going to ever happen again. I had a scare but I'm fine now. My whole right arm was numb for quite some time after I woke up. Doctor said I'd be fine, it was proabably just from the postition my arm was in during surgery. WT?!....and what praytel would that postition be to cause my whole arm to be rendered useless?!....? Well, it FINALLY woke up the day after and it's fine. The surgery went well, I'm sore as expected but recovering gradually. Sylvin's been taking over primary caregiver duties to me and the girls and he's doing a splendid job. Thank you Linneth and Big Papi for raising a wonderful man.
PS, in case you can't figure it out....Sy's in blue, Eve's in orange. My mom would love these!

MIA for a week or so.....
AHHHH aren't they adorable? Little Turkies. I had to run and errand early this morning, so I was putting the girls into the car one at a time cause it was raining this morning. I had taken Sy out first and put her in then came and got Eve. I had opened the car door and Sy said, "Hi Evie!" and so Eve said "Hi Sy Sy!" I about died! So stinking cute and their getting so BIG! If you haven't talked to them lately, consider yourself lucky. They nearly attack me to get the phone if I'm on it.
Tomorrow I go in for surgery early. I'm having some lumps removed from my right armpit. Truthfully I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure I'll be fine. Sylvin took 3 weeks of leave to be home with me to look after the girls. Not my idea of vacation time, but I guess we're both getting one wether we like it or not. Fire up the prayer chain, we're gonna need em. Love you all, I hope to be back up and functional soon, but it might take a while. Feel free to email me if ya want, nothing wrong with my eyes.....I'll still be able to read, just not type.

without further adieu......pictures from them turning 2!
Here's some pictures I finally got loaded up from the girls digging into birthday cake that I wanted to share.
Sy got a cool gift of "the creep and crud" probably from some generous shopping cart. Meaning... the "heat rash" that I thought she had under her arm the other day turned into a whole body expierence of itch mites! Needless to say I've since taken them to the doctor's, fumugated the house, washed every stitch of clothing in the house in hot water and bleach, shampoo'd the carpets, mopped the floors and lotioned the girls down in some prescribed cream to get rid of the little boogers. I had Sylvin up and changing the bed at 12:30am last night cause I couldn't stop itching either and had to grease myself down as well, to my shock and horror! We're all much better today. Eve and Sylvin were the only two that faired well, but I've got my bets placed anyway. I hope I loose.....but not holding my breath. How's your corner of the world going? Anyboby beating my door down to stay this week? Ahhh, common, where's your sense of adventure? Live dangerously. I thought my days of "catching" things were long over. Apparantly God DOES have a huge sense of humor. I'd be laughing too, but can't now, got to go throw another load of clothes in the dryer and washer!
You itch now don't you?
UPDATE: May 24th, we have a clean house, not a stitch of laundry that's not clean! Come to find out, Sy's got a yeast infection under her arm that's the rash from He!!. We've been putting Nystatin and believe it or not, baby Oragel on it to stop the itching, which works! So it's getting better, but it's a stubborn rash.

Ukelele Dancing and drinking toilet water
Had to report and post this video. It's been fun having Sylvin home and the girls love to dance when he plays the ukelele for them. So here's a video from last night.
We got up this morning and all was right with the world, except for Sy's constanst barrage of whinning! Anyway, finished breakfast and low and behold I find them equipped with megablocks standing at the toilet in my bathroom drinking toilet water! WT?!.....GROSS! Boy did they get in trouble! What didn't make it into their bellies was on the floor all over. They weren't even alone that long....long enough I guess, that's what matters.
Well, I guess I'm just going to have to keep the toilets clean, cleaner than usual, clean enough to take an occasional drink out of huh?
Sylvin later reported they'd gone coo coo three times a piece since their naps to dinner. (From 2:30PM til 7pm) I wondered if they'd get sick. Don't have to worry about constipation for the next day or so I bet!

Papi's home for a while
(The girls love wearing our shoes and they found Papi's boots. Eve's in the white shirt, Sy's in the blue. If you click onto the picture it'll blow up bigger so you can see clearer. Enjoy!)
Sylvin made it home! Yeah, but he had to stand duty the first day back. So the three of us spent alot of time on the ship with him on Friday. DJ, one of the other chief's on board volunteered to relieve him for a few hours so he could come home and spend time with us here for lunch. We went back down to the ship and I brought him dinner and the girls were able to run around the chief's mess on board, so it was a nice homecoming anyway. He spent the night on the ship and we three girls went home. Only to wake up Saturday morning to a 6.7 earthquake! I had gotten up to go to the bathroom, a rare occurrence, and I had just got back into bed when I began to feel the mattress tremble. I was questioning myself and the situation when all the sudden the trembling increased into an undeniable bed shaking earthquake! Geeze they're freaky! Feels like someone had just dropped a quarter in the bed and there's not a slot I can assure you. I asked Sylvin when he got home if he noticed it or not? I wondered with him being on the ship, but he said yes they felt it too. He said they were all debating if the engines started up by themselves or not. I guess being moored up to the pier with shore tie cables that are extremely heavy assist in the experience. We made the Chicago Tribune paper!?
6.7 quake jolts Guam; no damage or injuries reported
By Associated Press
8:24 PM CDT, May 9, 2008
HAGATNA, Guam - An undersea earthquake off Guam with a preliminary magnitude of 6.7 shook the U.S. territory Saturday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
There were no reports of damage or injuries. A magnitude-6 earthquake can cause severe damage.
The quake failed to generate any destructive, widespread tsunami, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu.
The quake struck at 7:51 a.m. at a depth of 54.4 miles, the survey said in a statement. It was centered 125 miles west-southwest of Hagatna, Guam, and 250 miles southwest of Saipan in the neighboring Northern Mariana Islands, it said.
Kim Alba, lifestyle editor at the Pacific Daily News, said that the quake jolted her house and woke her up, but that the shaking was apparently the extent of its impact on the island.
Air Force Tech Sgt. Brian Bahret, spokesman for Guam's Andersen Air Force Base, said there were no reports of damage there. And Sarrah Iguel, a dispatch operator for Civil Defense in the Marianas, said no one called to report damage.
Guam is west of the international date line, about 3,700 miles southwest of Hawaii

My saving grace......
Here's the solution I came up with............
they're not crawling out or falling out of their cribs and they can't get into their dresser or closet anymore either. I can't believe I even considered getting rid of this superyard gate thingy! I would have beat my own ass if I did! Makes me remember Jim Carey kicking his own ass in the bathroom on Liar Liar. I've never laughed so hard!.....kinda like when you're a kid and your dad is making you hit yourself and asking "why are you hitting yourself?" the whole time you're giggling til ya can't breathe.
I'm in a great mood. Not long now Papa Smurf! The girls are amazing me on a daily basis, their vocabulary is picking up. They're attempting to repeat words they've never used before. It's cool to actually recognize words coming outta their mouths.
I called 911 this morning. I went outside to let the dog out and to water the plants on the patio and when I came back inside I was doing a head count and only could account for one. Eve was missing! I was running all over the house calling for her, ran back outside looking all over and just thinking the worst! I came back in picked up the phone and dialed the dreaded numbers. The lady on the other end answered and I started talking like a crazy person....MY BABY'S MISSING!......I was walking back to the back of the house doing another sweep of the area when I spotted Eve on top of my BED...behind the comforter that was in a heap in front of her tiny little 2 year old giggling body! She didn't want to come down off the bed so she stayed quiet. I thought she was out in the living room with Sy and so I put up the babygate earlier without doing an actual head count I guess and so I locked her up in the back part of the house before I left the dog out. After finding her I was hysterical, I thought the lady was going to send the fire department out to administer oxygen to me anyway! OH my gosh, I can't remember shaking that violently.
Well, the girls are awake from their naps and tearing the walls down back there. I'd better get. Love you all and pray for us! We love you all back and miss you terribly!

"Dingas" turn TWO!
Look at how little they were! Only 12 days old here. This was taken right after we got word we could head for home home! I'm holding Eve, Sy w/papi.
And Look at Curly Sue and Turkey George now!
'Dinga' is chormorran for twins. I can hardly believe they're this big and old already! I didn't think they were going to make it to see two Wednesday night though. Eve didn't fall asleep til 1230am, I wonder if I can duct tape them into bed so that they'll stay? They fell asleep last night at 11pm but woke up this moring at 0430! Now as we speak, they're taking a nap and sleeping through the hum of a jackhammer outside their window. NO KIDDING! The housing is replacing all the older air conditioning units with new more energy efficient models. There is a crew outside breaking up the concrete side walk so that they can build a little brick structure to shelter the new unit. The girls haven't even flinched! I feel as dead as a doornail and there's no way I could sleep through the racket. Pray for us please. It's hard with Sylvin being gone and me having to set up a new structure for bedtime on my own. They are seriously testing buttons I didn't know exsisted. I talked to my sister in law Angela today, I used to laugh when she'd mention she herself had to serve a time out when dealing with Sarah Jane. Now I don't think it's such a ridiculous idea at all anymore! Sarah Jane had even been wise enough to tell Ang to 'Calm down Mommy, take a big breath'. Out of the mouths of babes eh?!
