Papi's home once more!
The above video is from our first family night dinner we had celebrating Sylvin being home. He grilled T bones and I made rice and beans. The girls had some too. They were liking it as you can see, they discovered you could make noise by licking your fingers fast. So stinking cute. They're really forming personalities all their own.
Sylvin came home a day early. He's still in full throttle doing his CCTI stuff, but it'll be over in about 2 weeks. So I guess I can share for that long, but not much after that. I told him last night, two weeks is the longest he's allowed to stay away before I don't like him being gone anymore. He said he's work on that, but I highly doubt the schedule is going to bend to my whims or wants.
We're debating on going to Japan while the boat is in over there. I heard there was a Disneyland over close to Tokoyo. I did some research and the three of us can take a "mac" flight to Japan for free. Just have to be willing to be very flexible. Mac flights are the military C130 flights between bases. The girls are under 3, so they're still considered a free admission. Adult two day passes are 93/per person and I checked out a nearby hotel. 79/a night! Pretty darn good and those are american dollars....I did the conversion already. It's sounds astronomical in yens so I'm not even going to attempt that. Might be worth braving it on the flight over. Oh, what spurred my thinking...one of the spouses wives is planning a trip over to Disneyland too and she said she'd help me with the girls if we were to fly together. she's got older kids so there are even more hands to help. I figure if I get over there, I have no choice but to come back. Put my money where my mouth is I guess.
We've come to a semi cirlce,.....hence the sandy beaches....This site is all about our adventures in Guam and archives of our first year in Michigan together. Me, Syani, Eve and Sylvin too! We're so very very blessed!
Please feel free to leave a comment at the end of a post. I enjoy the feedback and it lets me know you've been here. Or if you prefer email, send me some at guam.usvigirl@gmail.com

Pretty mundane here.....
but I'm not complaining. It could be alot worse. Sylvin's been gone for a week now. He's not supposed to be gone long, but I'm really not a liberty to say when he should return either. He's been going through CCTI, which is "Chief's call to initiation" it's all top secret, so I really can't tell you much about it either. Some "old boys military" stuff he is enduring so that he can be proud to be called an initiated Chief. I know he had to make a hat box and it looks like an end table rather than a 'hat box'. He welded it togther made of steel and expanded metal. He plans on making a drawer made out of mahogany and even putting a piece of glass in it too complete with a light.
Went to the thrift store this morning. Friday's are 5 dollar/bag day. All the clothes you can fit in a bag for 5 dollars. I looked for tee shirts for Sylvin since he has nothing but long sleeved ones but there was so much there and Eve was really acting up. She freaks out bad over people being close to her. They were both in the little toy area and there was a lady down on her knees looking at the bags/purses right out side the wall and Eve was shrieking with fear. So needless to say I didn't stay long at all and I didn't really get a chance to look through much. I got them like 4 more little board books.
Anyway, the girls have been alright I guess, other than the freaking out over people being too close. Oh, we went to the grocery yesterday to get milk, bananas and kiwi. I had put them in the cart that has steering wheels. Well we weren't there long at all and when I went up to check out Sy threw a fit. Wailing at the top of her lungs and holding her breath. I was so embarassed. The XO's wife was there in the next isle. Geeze how embarassing! Sy was vexed cause we were leaving too soon, I think. Terrible twos are not going to be fun, I can tell already. Sy was just about to throw a fit today too when we went to leave the thift store. I did the count thing. Got to two, I usually only have to say one and she'll quit doing whatever.....I dunno what I'm gonna do if I have to pull three out on em. ???? OH, even more to tell!!!.....I was putting Sy's PJs on while Eve was in the tub...you know where this is going huh? No...not poop...Eve was pouring bucket after bucket of water out of the tub over the side. I wasn't paying attention, I was trying to get Sy ready until I finally tuned in and heard a not "normal" noise. I looked over and there was a lake on the bathroom floor. The water was rolling down toward the door out into the hallway behind me. I had to get the mop to get it all up. The towel that was down was completely soaked so was the bathroom rug. Eve got in big trouble. I was stern and kinda loud and put her in a time out while I moppped up all that water. Poor Sy sits down too when Eve gets in trouble with a time out. So cute, but I told her she was alright and could get up, but she sat still anyway. The mop has saved me a couple of times already this week. Tonight, I gave them both sippies of milk, well Sy dropped hers and the next thing I know Beans is having a feast. I appreciate his help, but I didn't want him getting sick licking up the WHOLE glass of milk that was dumped. Someone was thinking when they put tile floors in the entire house!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Been trying to get this entry finished for the last couple of days.
Good News!!! Sylvin's coming home soon! Hope you all have a great weekend, and I'll try to post some video over the weekend. Love to you all. From all of us

I'm glad the Giants won I guess....
Well, now I have an answer to "How does live television work there in Guam?" The Super Bowl was my first expierence with this very issue. Game kick off time there in the states, 6pm Sunday night. Here in Guam, 9 am Monday morning. Somehow beer just doesn't taste the same with scrambled eggs and bacon. Blueberry pancakes are a better stretch, but the syrup leaves a funny mixing aftertaste with beer chasers. Nah, kidding....but not about the time the game started here. We had a potluck over at DJ and Keri's. Most of the crew from Sylvin's ship was there. The girls were good as usual. They are so well behaved I can't believe my luck.
The video was breakfast time, I can't believe they, especially Eve, how much they can pack in their mouths!
After the game was over, we came home and the girls took a much needed nap. They were definitely overtired and getting nuts. After they got up, we all went outside to play and the girls found a lizard hiding away in their playhouse. So the following video is starring the Lizard, scared for his life. Watch how fast he can do a 180! Amazing. Sy is the one who reached up to touch it's tail. Usually Eve is brave, but Sy beat her to it this time around.
Did ya see it? They jump fast and run at a good clip too.
If you're a hair spray band fan....let the playlist run. There's some really good songs on there you know and love and quite a few to listen too. Some really take me back. There's a radio station here called the Cat 105.1 that plays the 60-70s in the moring/lunch time, 80s during the afteroon early evening and then 80s 90s rock all night long. It's been really cool to listen to and cook/clean up from dinner. The girls almost have the head banging thing down.
